About ManikSys

Products born in the field, not in a catalogue.

Our mission

To simplify the air conditioning industry and solve the problems inverter heat pumps create today. ManikSys develops equipment and service tools for heating, ventilation and air conditioning. Every product starts the same way: a problem technicians hit in the field that no existing solution properly solves.

Our story

It all began in May 2008 in St-Colomban, in the Lower Laurentians: Patrice Daigneault, then sales director at Goodman Canada, installed the very first on/off side-discharge heat pump on an American furnace, relying on traditional American 24-volt AC technology. It was a risky bet — American manufacturers, uninterested in technology from their foreign competition, showed no interest in following suit. Yet this unit, left unmaintained and buried under snow winter after winter, consistently outperformed traditional heat pumps' COP in deep freezes — and kept heating a poorly insulated 400-square-foot garage without fail until 2017.

In April 2017, at the Climatex Mecanex trade show, the Maxivent team publicly unveiled its side-discharge inverter system for the first time — the culmination of nine years of field testing. A "rolling laboratory" then toured Quebec for over 80,000 km to demonstrate the product's efficiency to installers, while a portable simulator capable of reaching -30°C validated defrost cycles. But the venture had its risks too: in his fixed laboratory, Patrice Daigneault subsequently discovered several problems common to inverter units, across every brand. That finding gave rise to the idea of bringing products to market to fix these problems, and of offering technicians in the field better technical analysis tools.

Every side-discharge heat pump brand on the market today descends from this pioneering project — with Patrice Daigneault as its principal driving force. It is in direct continuity with this research that ManikSys was founded in 2023, already holding two patents: the ManikSys housing unit and the CSI-1 starter.

How we work

Design it simple, build it tough, install it fast. ManikSys products are made to be fitted and serviced by a single technician, with direct access to components and compatibility with equipment already installed across North America and Asia.

Brand ownership
